What causes cold & flu?
Cold & Flu is an infection which can be caused by a virus. Strangely it has nothing to do with cold climates! It comes from other people’s germs. It’s just when it’s cold, people tend to be closer together, and more likely to share germs.
Cold & Flu is highly contagious. When an infected person coughs, sneezes or speaks, the virus will travel on droplets through the air where it can be easily picked up by the next person.
What are the symptoms of cold & flu?
The symptoms of cold & flu vary from person to person. They can include:
- A blocked or runny nose
- A sore throat
- Sneezing
- Coughing
- Watery eyes
- A headache
- More mucus than normal
More hard hitting symptoms can include:
- A cough. Dry and tickly or chesty and full of mucus.
- A blocked nose. This may be caused by the membrane lining in your nose swelling up.
- Headaches. They are usually caused by an increase in temperature, dehydration and even a blocked nose.
- A fever. Your body fights the infection and your temperature rises above 37.2ºC.
- General body aches and pains. Rest up, drink plenty of water and take care of your symptoms with CODRAL®.
- Keep out of reach of children.

Phenylephrine may cause sleeplessness in some people. Night capsules only: may make you drowsy. If drowsy, do not drive a vehicle or operate machinery. Avoid alcohol.
Keep to recommended dose. If an overdose is taken or suspected, ring the Poisons Information Centre (Australia 13 11 26, New Zealand 0800 764 766) or go to a hospital straight away even if you feel well because of the risk of delayed serious liver damage.
Do not use this product:
- For children under 12 years
- If you have taken paracetamol
- If you have taken antihistamines
- If carton seal is broken or missing or if capsule foil is broken
Ask your doctor before use:
- If you have high blood pressure
- If you are taking antidepressants
- If you have heart problems
- If you are pregnant
- If you are taking any other medicines to treat cough and cold

Use this product for:

Adults and children 12 years and over.
How many:
Day: 2 green Night: 2 red/white
How often:
Day: morning, midday & afternoon Night: at bedtime
Time between each dose:
4-6 hours as necessary. Maximum 6 day & 2 night capsules in 24 hours
When to stop:
This medicine should not be taken for longer than a few days in adults, or 48 hours in children, except on medical advice.
